Breaking News: Once again calls terrorist leader Öcalan 'founding leader': 'The February 27 statement is essential to us'
Speaking at his party's weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli said, "Are we not all Muslims? Do we not all have the same God, the same prophet, the same qibla, and the same book? Have ethnic and sectarian differences not been used as a weapon by certain circles? Are we not tired of following each other with furrowed brows? Is the suffering and torment we have endured not enough? Should we not be of one heart? We are both Alevi and Sunni, and above all, we are the Muslim Turkish nation. Our Alevi brothers and sisters are our lifeblood; their every problem is our problem. Just as the mosque is ours, the cemevi is also ours."
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting in the TBMM.
Highlights from Bahçeli's speech are as follows:
Distinguished deputies, esteemed guests, distinguished representatives of our press, I greet you with my best wishes at the beginning of our group meeting. I greet our citizens who are following our meeting with longing.
Peace instead of war, embracing instead of polarization, cooperation instead of exploitation, equality instead of privilege, and free will instead of oppression are the recipes that will solve every problem.
If we stir up old books, we will end up like bankrupt merchants. If we reach out to hearts, we will strengthen our brotherhood in a powerful way. We are aiming to reach a consensus on the bottomless debates of the Turkish and Turkey Century. This goal is moral.
BAHÇELİ'S ALEVI INITIATIVE
Are we not all Muslims? Do we not all have the same God, the same prophet, the same qibla, and the same book? Have ethnic and sectarian differences not been used as a weapon by certain circles? Are we not tired of following each other with furrowed brows? Is the suffering and torment we have endured not enough? Should we not be of one heart? We are both Alevi and Sunni, and above all, we are the Muslim Turkish nation. Our Alevi brothers and sisters are our lifeblood; their every problem is our problem. Just as the mosque is ours, the cemevi is also ours.
These thoughts of mine do not prevent me from voicing the expectations of our Alevi brothers and sisters. Our Alevi brothers and sisters are our lifeblood, our companions. Their every problem is our problem, and their every request is our request. Those who try to remove Alevism from the realm of faith and culture are making a big mistake. There is no end to keeping tensions alive. We must show understanding for our Alevi brothers and sisters viewing the cemevi as a place of worship. The obstacle to cemevis being places of worship must be removed.
We are on the same line today as we were yesterday. Those who do not read the inner face of what happened from Maraş to Çorum are, rest assured, completely outside our sphere of interest and contact. It is our prayer to God that the world's largest cemevi complex, approximately 6,000 square meters in Hacıbektaş, will be a sign of our national unity. The bright torch of the Ahl al-Bayt will burn there. I commemorate the dear elders of the Ahl al-Bayt with respect.
CEASEFIRE IN GAZA
The 738 days of terror have partially ended, and a ceasefire has been established as of October 10. With the implementation of the agreement, positive developments have begun to occur. I hope that the summit held in Egypt yesterday will be a solution not only for the Palestine-Israel conflict but also for the Middle East. It is necessary to be cautious in the face of Israel's untrustworthy attitude. It will not be considered that war crimes go unpunished. Vandals will be held accountable before the global conscience and judiciary. With the partial withdrawal of the Israeli army and the ceasefire, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have begun to return to their ruined homes with a forced smile.
The flood of people is reminiscent of a procession of the suffering endured by a people in their struggle for life. Our wish is for lasting peace to flourish. There is no point in being distracted by a ceasefire whose outcome cannot be predicted. 67 thousand innocent lives were taken in Gaza. Unless a Palestine is established within the '67 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and having obtained full membership status from the UN, it is futile to be content with positional gains.
The Middle East will be saved from its stormy atmosphere. Turkey's participation in the International Task and Stability Force, planned as a mechanism to ensure civil and diplomatic coordination alongside the goal of peace, security, and stability in Gaza, will contribute. Turkey's power has now been seen by everyone. Anyone who has not become alienated from their country will see this.
"ÖZGÜR BEY'S PATH IS NOT THE RIGHT PATH"
It is unacceptable for Özgür Bey to disparage our country during his tours starting with Spain and to slander our President regarding Gaza. It is Turkey that says to those watching the genocide from the stands, 'What are you still waiting for?' One does not need to be from this party or that party to take pride in such a Turkey. It is enough to act bravely, to melt with love for the country, and not to compromise on being a man of one's word. No matter which country's opposition you examine, you will not see them complaining about their country and nation. Shame on them, and shame on those who are partners in this.
False bravado shown in a crowd is not accepted as an apology made in private. Özgür Bey's path is not the right path.
REACTION TO IMAMOĞLU'S "NOBEL PRIZE"
This year's Nobel Peace Prize was given to a Venezuelan lady. She went so far as to ask the US to intervene in her country. The former Mayor of Istanbul also congratulated this lady. This is what the CHP is. The bones of the late Atatürk are aching. This peace prize is, of course, null and void. Take your prize, use it to your heart's content, and then wear it as a hat. The place for those who slander the President in foreign countries is any country other than our homeland. We want the dirty laundry to be washed at home. Complaining about our country to foreigners is not an honorable stance. The CHP is on the wrong route, and the person at its head is suffering from a hysterical crisis.
VERY HARSH REACTION TO DEM PARTY
We invite everyone to use responsible language in a Turkey without terrorism. Our martyrs are not corpses. There is no place or need for rowdy slogans under the roof of the TBMM. We must all take care not to disrupt the goal of a Turkey without terrorism. Fumbling in the creek after crossing the sea will not benefit anyone.
"THE FOUNDING LEADER'S FEBRUARY 27 STATEMENT IS ESSENTIAL TO US"
No words other than the February 27 Imrali statement have any validity for us. The founding leader's February 27 statement is essential to us. Anyone who walks on that basis is a wise person.
