Breaking News... Operation against arms smugglers in 74 provinces: 2,368 detained

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account, "In the operations carried out against those carrying unlicensed weapons and arms smugglers in 74 provinces over the last 4 days; 1,284 unlicensed pistols, 37 long-barreled rifles, and 170 unlicensed hunting rifles were seized. 2,368 suspects were detained."

The number of unlicensed weapons seized and suspects detained in some cities are as follows;

In Istanbul, 266 pistols and 3 long-barreled rifles were seized. 402 suspects were detained.

In Adana, 142 pistols and 1 long-barreled rifle were seized. 180 suspects were detained.

In Konya, 76 pistols and 2 long-barreled rifles were seized. 85 suspected arms smugglers were detained.

In Izmir, 64 pistols and 1 long-barreled rifle were seized. 130 suspects were detained.

In Ankara, 60 pistols were seized. 100 suspects were detained.

In Mersin, 52 pistols and 1 long-barreled rifle were seized. 90 suspects were detained.

In Osmaniye, 43 pistols were seized. 12 suspects were detained.

In Şanlıurfa, 39 pistols were seized. 59 suspects were detained.
