Breaking News... Polls closed: Voting has ended in 32 provinces!
Polls closed at 16:00 in the 32 provinces where voting for the March 31 Local Elections began at 07:00.
Turkey is experiencing the excitement of local elections.
According to the decision of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), polls closed at 16:00 in Adıyaman, Ağrı, Artvin, Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, Kars, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Ordu, Rize, Siirt, Sivas, Trabzon, Tunceli, Şanlıurfa, Van, Bayburt, Batman, Şırnak, Ardahan, Iğdır, and Kilis, as well as in the penal institutions located in these provinces, where voting began at 07:00.
In other cities where voting began at 08:00, polls will close at 17:00.
The election ban ends at 21:00. However, it is expected that the YSK will move the ban forward, as it does in every election.
YSK Chairman Ahmet Yener had stated regarding the election ban: “Voting processes continue abroad. Voting will conclude in our 32 provinces at 16:00 and in the remaining provinces at 17:00. After 17:00, the council will convene to make a decision on what time the broadcast bans will be lifted and we will share it.”
