Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's request to meet with Selahattin Demirtaş at Edirne Prison was not accepted by Demirtaş.
It had been announced that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship with a decision of absolute nullity, would visit former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne Prison.
According to the report by Halktv.com.tr, Kılıçdaroğlu's request to meet with Demirtaş was not accepted by Demirtaş.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had stated on a program on Sözcü TV that he did not feel any regret for voting "yes" in the vote regarding the lifting of Selahattin Demirtaş's parliamentary immunity.
Following this statement, one of Kılıçdaroğlu's advisors, Necdet Saraç, had used the following expressions during a Habertürk broadcast:
“In the coming days, Mr. Kemal will visit Mr. Selahattin Demirtaş at Edirne Prison. We will all listen to Mr. Kemal's statement together after the Demirtaş visit…”
Kılıçdaroğlu's statement that "I have no regrets" had drawn reactions from the DEM Party front.
