BREAKING NEWS... Release decision for Berkay Gezgin
Berkay Gezgin, the architect of the slogan "Everything will be very beautiful" used by IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu in the 2019 elections, and 101 others have been released. A release decision was also made for 25 people who were under house arrest in the 139-person case file.
Berkay Gezgin, the architect of the slogan "Everything will be very beautiful", which became a catchphrase during Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's 2019 election campaign, is among the 102 people who have been released.
Additionally, house arrest has been lifted for 25 people in the 139-person case file.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
There were individuals who were taken into custody among those protesting the detention and arrest of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu. The protests had begun on March 19. Berkay Gezgin was one of the individuals who was taken into custody and subsequently arrested by the court. Reactions from famous figures followed one after another regarding Berkay Gezgin's arrest.
WHO IS BERKAY GEZGİN?
Berkay Gezgin became known as the architect of Ekrem İmamoğlu's 'Everything will be very beautiful' slogan. During the 2019 Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality elections, Gezgin called out to Ekrem İmamoğlu's bus and said, 'Brother Ekrem, everything will be very beautiful!' Ekrem İmamoğlu later turned these words into his election slogan. This slogan has been used since 2019.
Berkay Gezgin is originally from Hatay but was born and raised in Istanbul. He graduated from Aydın Doğan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. He is currently continuing his undergraduate education at Anadolu University.
