TENGİOĞLU ARRESTED, CRIMINAL RECORD REVEALED

CHP leader Özel emphasized that the attack was not coincidental, stating, "This is a planned attack. They want us to withdraw from the streets. But we will not bow down even an inch, we will not take a step back."
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE COMPLETES INVESTIGATION
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed its investigation into the attack. The prepared indictment includes details of the incident. According to the document, the assailant Tengioğlu left the apartment named "Taksim 34," where he was staying, at 08:30 on the morning of May 4, and then went to the front of the AKM after having breakfast at a hotel.
According to security camera footage, Tengioğlu waited there for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, saw CHP Chairman Özgür Özel enter the ceremony area, and waited until the ceremony ended. As the ceremony concluded, Tengioğlu approached Özel and slapped him in the face.
NO ORGANIZATIONAL TIES, ATTACK PLANNED ALONE
The indictment notes that all of the assailant's movements up until the moment of the incident were monitored via security cameras and added to the file. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that Selçuk Tengioğlu had no connection to any terrorist organization or criminal group.
Furthermore, financial account movements were examined via MASAK, and 5 years of HTS records for all his GSM lines were investigated to determine if other individuals participated in the attack. According to HTS and MASAK data, no other person involved in the attack was found.
"I DID IT IN A MOMENT OF ANGER," HE SAID
The suspect's statement was also included in the indictment. In his statement, Tengioğlu said he accepted the accusations and that he saw a crowd while walking in Taksim on the day of the incident and wanted to attend the funeral.
