Claiming that the 5 dismissed lieutenants damaged the reputation of the TSK, the MSB used the following expressions: "The narrative that the lieutenants were punished for saying 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' is one of the greatest slanders and insults that could be directed at the Turkish Armed Forces."
