Breaking News: Statement on Kanal Istanbul from Murat Kurum

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum made statements before the AKP group meeting.

"KANAL ISTANBUL IS NOT ON OUR AGENDA"

Speaking about the Kanal Istanbul project, which has drawn significant public backlash, and the construction along the route, Kurum said, "Kanal Istanbul is not on our agenda."

Kurum's statements are as follows:

“We have said before that it is not. The effort to pull the subject into other areas will remain unreciprocated in the eyes of our nation.

"ALL OF THOSE WHO PURCHASED ARE CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY"

Those houses are the social housing we promised our nation in election squares before... In this sense, it is a project we carried out so that our citizens who do not own homes can become homeowners. As the opposition claims, houses have not been sold to Arabs or other foreign citizens. All of those who purchased them are citizens of the Republic of Turkey.”
