Breaking News: Trustee appointed to another DEM Party municipality

DEM Party Ağrı MP Nejla Demir announced that a trustee has been appointed to the Kağızman Municipality in Kars.

In a post on her X account, Demir stated, "The policy of appointing trustees by instrumentalizing the judiciary is a usurpation of will, colonial law, and plunder! This lawlessness, which ignores the will of the people, is clearly hostility toward the people. The appointment of a trustee to our Kağızman Municipality at 02:00 in the middle of the night with hundreds of police officers is a usurpation of will and the plunder of what belongs to the people."

The Ministry of Interior announced that Kağızman District Governor Okan Daştan has been appointed to replace DEM Party Kağızman Mayor Mehmet Alkan.

In a statement from the Ministry, it was reported that Kağızman Co-Mayor Mehmet Alkan, who was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison by the Kars 2nd High Criminal Court on charges of "membership in an armed terrorist organization," has been removed from office.
