The Ministry of Interior has appointed trustees to the DEM Party-run municipalities of Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti.
Mayors Ahmet Türk, Gülistan Sönük, and Mehmet Karayılan have been removed from their posts.
Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun has been appointed as the trustee to replace Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk.
The trustee administration announced that it has begun its duties in Mardin.
A photo of Akkoyun was shared on the municipality's official website.
It was observed that a photograph of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had been hung in the office.
