In the case of 15-year-old Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in Kadıköy, Istanbul, the prosecution had requested in its final opinion that defendants U.B. and B.B. be sentenced to 24 years in prison each for the crime of "intentional killing of a child."
During the hearing, the Minguzzi family left the courtroom as the defense attorneys began to speak. Yasemin Minguzzi later returned to the courtroom. The court adjourned the hearing until 13:30.
COURT ANNOUNCES ITS VERDICT
With the decision taken by the court, two defendants were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and 24 years in prison. No reduction for unjust provocation was applied. For the other two defendants, the court issued an acquittal and release order.

Before the hearing, slogans of "rights, law, justice" were chanted in the courthouse corridors. Those who came to support the family chanted "We want a precedent-setting decision" outside the courtroom.
