Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus has been suspended in both directions.

In a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was stated, "For the 176-meter-long vessel named CORNELIA, which experienced engine failure off the coast of Beşiktaş in the Bosphorus, our pilot and our KURTARMA-9 tugboat, affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily suspended in both directions."

In the latest statement from the Ministry, it was noted, "The vessel named Cornelia has restarted its engine; it is continuing its transit through the Bosphorus accompanied by our pilot and our Kurtarma-9 and Kurtarma-12 tugboats."

Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus, which was temporarily suspended in both directions, was reopened for north-south transit after the vessel in question completed its passage.
