Breaking News... When will the broadcast ban be lifted? Statement from Ahmet Yener
Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chairman Ahmet Yener has made a statement regarding the broadcast ban.
As voting continues for the March 31 Local Elections, polls will close across Turkey as of 17:00.
As the time for the polls to close approaches, a statement regarding the broadcast ban has come from Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chairman Ahmet Yener.
"As of 16:00, voting has been completed in 32 of our provinces and vote counting has begun. As of 17:00, voting will be completed in the remaining provinces," said Yener, adding that they will provide general information regarding all vote counting processes at 17:00.
Stating that the Council will convene once voting is completed to decide at what time the broadcast bans will be lifted, Yener requested that no statements be made regarding election results before the broadcast bans are lifted.
EXPECTED TO BE MOVED FORWARD
The election ban ends at 21:00. It is expected that the YSK will move the broadcast ban forward in this election, as it has in previous elections.
