Brother of former MP Ahmet Çelik arrested for stabbing him
Kemal Çelik, who stabbed his brother, Yeniçağ newspaper owner and former MP Ahmet Çelik, in his office, was detained yesterday. Kemal Çelik was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace on charges of "intentional injury."
Kemal Çelik, who severely wounded his brother, former İYİ Party Istanbul MP Ahmet Çelik, with a knife in his office, has been arrested.
In the incident that took place in Bahçelievler, his brother Kemal Çelik (64), who severely wounded 27th Term İYİ Party Istanbul MP Ahmet Çelik (67) with a knife, was apprehended by the police.
The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse and was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace on charges of "intentional injury" following his statement to the prosecutor's office.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Yesterday, Yeniçağ newspaper owner and 27th Term İYİ Party Istanbul MP Ahmet Çelik had an argument with his brother Kemal Çelik (64) at his office on Fatih Street in the Çobançeşme neighborhood.
As the argument escalated, Kemal Çelik stabbed his older brother, Ahmet Çelik, in the chest and hand.
The wounded Ahmet Çelik was taken to the hospital. His medical condition remains serious.
