In the Kozan district of Adana, a suspect who attempted to flee from a police checkpoint was discovered to be a fugitive with a long criminal record, wanted for a finalized 26-year prison sentence.
A suspect who attempted to flee after failing to comply with a police 'Stop' order during an operation conducted by the Kozan District Police Department's Public Security Bureau yesterday was apprehended shortly after. An investigation revealed that the individual caught was C.K., who has a long criminal record and was wanted with a finalized 26-year prison sentence.
It was learned that the suspect was wanted for crimes including assault, membership in an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes, drug use and possession, escape of a convict or detainee, property damage, robbery, armed threat, and deprivation of liberty, and that he had a total finalized prison sentence of 26 years and 7 months.
The suspect, who was taken into custody, was referred to the Kozan Courthouse following processing at the police station and was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
Message in press group draws reaction
On the other hand, it emerged that C.K.'s older brother is IYI Party Kozan District Chair Hasan Kaymaz.
It was also learned that Chair Kaymaz sent a threatening message to a WhatsApp group containing journalists, demanding that no news be reported regarding his brother.

In the message Kaymaz sent to the group, he stated, "Dear members of the press, do not report on my brother C.K.; be aware that I will report anyone who makes or spreads baseless news to the judicial authorities. If news is to be made, then reports about the attempt to kill him by shooting at his car should also be made. If things are covered up when it involves wealthy families, that is not journalism, be aware of that."
