Buğra Kavuncu reacts to Erdoğan's chief advisor Mehmet Uçum: 'You've let the cat out of the bag'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Chief Advisor Mehmet Uçum made assessments regarding Erdoğan's potential re-candidacy in a post titled "Sunday article."

Arguing that Erdoğan could run for office once more, Uçum stated, "According to the Constitution, if the Parliament decides to renew elections during the President's second term, the President may run for office one more time (Constitution Art. 116/3). This candidacy situation is an exception to the two-term rule. For this reason, it is called an 'exceptional candidacy'."

'YOU'VE LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG'

A response to these remarks from Uçum came from İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Buğra Kavuncu.

In a statement on his social media account, Kavuncu said, "You've let the cat out of the bag."

Kavuncu wrote the following:  

"What matters is, will you be given this opportunity by someone in the TBMM? Because we, as the İYİ Party, will be firmly against this initiative, which would be considered a blow to the spirit of the constitution."
