Building manager dies after falling into elevator shaft
An apartment building manager who wanted to check a faulty elevator lost his balance and fell from the 3rd floor into the shaft while trying to determine the source of the malfunction. The 66-year-old manager lost his life.
In an incident that occurred at the Çağlayan Site located on Zafer Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Bursa, an apartment manager lost his life after falling into an elevator shaft.
In the incident that took place around 21:30 on January 13, 66-year-old apartment manager E.G. went to the elevator in block B of the Çağlayan Site to check it after identifying a malfunction, accompanied by the building attendant Z.A.Ç.
The manager, who opened the 3rd-floor elevator door with a key and was trying to understand the cause of the malfunction, lost his balance and fell from the 3rd floor into the shaft.
The 110 and 112 teams that arrived at the scene extracted the manager, E.G., who had fallen into the elevator shaft, and transported him to the hospital. Despite all interventions at the hospital, the manager, E.G., who had been taken there in critical condition, lost his life.
The investigation into the incident, which resulted in the death of the apartment manager, is ongoing.
