Bülent Turan responds to Haluk Levent's 'wait for the real bombshell' remark: Audits are conducted based on risk assessment

Turan stated, "Approximately 103,000 associations in our country are audited by both Civil Inspectors and Association Auditors in accordance with the Law on Associations No. 5253, under our Ministry's General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society. These audits are not conducted based on random messages or requests, but in line with the administration's risk assessment, requests from judicial/administrative authorities, or complaints, and the findings are shared with relevant institutions, primarily the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor."

Following a report by MASAK on suspicious multi-billion transactions as part of an investigation into the Ahbap Association, Haluk Levent, who was detained in Bursa, argued in his first statement on the matter that attempts were being made to associate his personal debts with the association.

Levent stated that he had messaged Bülent Turan, saying, "Mr. Minister, they are trying to associate my private life with Ahbap. Come, please come urgently; audit everything from the earthquake process to today and share it with the public. Do not associate my personal debt-credit relationships with Ahbap." Levent added, "I know that under this bombardment, it will be difficult and time-consuming to reveal the truth, but in the end, our justification will be registered." Emphasizing that "Ahbap is completely out of the question in my personal debt-credit relationships," Levent added, "However, there is a persistent attempt to associate it with this. Time will show everything."

Following this statement by Levent, Turan made a post on his social media account.

Bülent Turan included the following statements in his post on his social account:

"Approximately 103,000 associations in our country are audited by both Civil Inspectors and Association Auditors in accordance with the Law on Associations No. 5253, under our Ministry's General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society. These audits are not conducted based on random messages or requests, but in line with the administration's risk assessment, requests from judicial/administrative authorities, or complaints, and the findings are shared with relevant institutions, primarily the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor. Civil society is a primary protected area of democracy that belongs to us all. Let us leave the decision to the judiciary, not social media."
