An individual named Burak Keleş, who frequently insulted and used profanity against Republican values and Kemalism on social media, particularly targeting the founder of the Republic, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was detained yesterday.
It has emerged that before his detention, Keleş had stated he would not surrender on August 30, Victory Day, saying, "if I give you that joy, I am the most dishonorable man in the world."
'IF I GIVE YOU THAT JOY...'
Keleş had said the following in his post:
"Police have been coming to my house since 12 o'clock. Because I am out of the city; you have to be taken in somehow, because why, at a point where there is a perception that I insulted Atatürk on August 30 Victory Day, our group is calling for me to be handed over like a sacrificial lamb in the golden group. We succeeded, did you see friends, we leftists love you, look, when even the values you believe in are spoken against, we catch and put them away within 24 hours. If I go and surrender on August 30, if I give you that joy, I am the most dishonorable man in the world.
The prosecutor called me for a statement, I am ready to comply. I am out of the city, I will go as soon as I return to Istanbul. If something were to happen to us, our own bootlickers would be the first to sell us out."
Keleş also targeted Dilruba K., who was imprisoned for 18 days due to a street interview she participated in.
