Burdur Governor's Office announces: Asphalt road was built on the shore of Lake Salda
The Burdur Governor's Office has issued a statement regarding the asphalt road built near Lake Salda, which is a protected natural area. The statement said, "The work carried out is an improvement of the existing road that has been used by the local people for years."
The Burdur Governor's Office responded with a written statement to allegations published in recent days on some social media accounts and news sites claiming that work was being done to ‘open a new road around Lake Salda’.
THERE IS NO NEW ROAD, ONLY IMPROVEMENT
The following statements were included in the statement made by the Burdur Governor's Office:
“Lake Salda and its surroundings, which were declared a Special Environmental Protection Area in 2019, are being protected with the highest level of environmental sensitivity, and in this context, non-compliant activities are strictly prohibited in the region. As opposed to what has been alleged on some social media platforms and news sites, there is no question of opening a new road around Lake Salda; the work carried out is an improvement of the existing road that has been used by the local people for years. Without narrowing or widening the platform of the existing road that stretches along the shore of Lake Salda, which is heavily used by the local people between Kayadibi Neighborhood of Yeşilova District and Doğanbaba Village, the ground has been reinforced and improved in locations where it had deteriorated, while maintaining the platform width, and it has been offered for public use as a 'shared bicycle path'. We kindly request that misleading posts based on incomplete information not be made regarding this matter and that purposeful posts far from the truth be disregarded.”
