CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut stated, "It is another shameful day in the name of law. Our Ataşehir Mayor, Onursal Adıgüzel, has been arrested through slanders and conspiracies. The will expressed by the people of Ataşehir at the ballot box has been disregarded, and democracy has once again received a heavy blow. These practices, which are proof that the judiciary is under the domination of the executive and acts upon instructions, do not find resonance in the social conscience. This mentality, which targets elected officials, is actually a clear expression of discomfort with the people's choice. However, it must be known that no pressure, no lawlessness can stand before the will of the nation! Those who put forward these slanders and those who set up this dirty conspiracy will sooner or later be held accountable before justice."

One of the names who reacted harshly to Adıgüzel's arrest was one of the party's deputy chairmen, Gökan Zeybek. Zeybek said that Onursal Adıgüzel was arrested as a result of slanders:
