Bursa Metropolitan Municipality issues warning against wildfire relief fraud
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has warned citizens against fraudsters, stating that messages requesting IBAN numbers while using the municipality's name in connection with wildfires are fake.
As the fight against forest fires that have been affecting various regions in Bursa for days continues at full speed, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has issued an important warning to citizens.
The municipality called for caution against fraud attempts made under the pretext of aid.
In an SMS warning sent to citizens, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality stated, "Notifications claiming that our municipality's name is being used to share IBANs for the purpose of providing aid to Harmancık and other wildfire-affected areas do not reflect the truth. Please do not pay attention to such messages and do not send any money under any circumstances. We kindly request that you report such situations to law enforcement authorities."
