Businessman Halit Yukay's missing boat and body found
The body of businessman Halit Yukay, who went missing while traveling from Yalova to Bozcaada, has been found at a depth of 68 meters.
The Balıkesir Governor's Office announced that the body of Halit Yukay, who set off from Yalova to Bozcaada in his private boat on August 4 and had not been heard from since, was located on the seabed at a depth of 68 meters. Efforts to recover the body of the 43-year-old businessman are ongoing.
ACCIDENT AND INVESTIGATION DETAILS
Following a report of a wrecked boat off the coast of Erdek, Balıkesir, on August 5, investigations determined that the vessel was the yacht named "Graywolf," belonging to Halit Yukay.
In connection with the incident, the captain of the Turkish-flagged dry cargo ship "AREL 7," identified as C.T., was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the accident. Examinations conducted on the ship revealed friction marks indicating a collision with Halit Yukay's boat.
As a result of search operations carried out by the Coast Guard and other relevant units, Halit Yukay's body was found by divers on August 23 in the area identified as the probable point of collision. The Marmara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an expert investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Halit Yukay was the founder and CEO of Mazu Yachts, which operates in the maritime sector. The company is known for designing and manufacturing custom luxury yachts.
