Büyükçekmece Municipality responds to 'corruption investigation launched' claims
Büyükçekmece Municipality stated that reports claiming a "corruption investigation has been launched into the municipality" do not reflect the truth, noting that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested a list of all construction projects granted permits and occupancy certificates between 2015 and 2025.
In a written statement issued by the Büyükçekmece Municipality, it was stated that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office sent a letter to the municipality requesting a list of construction projects that were granted permits and occupancy certificates between 01.01.2015 and 07.05.2025.
The statement made by the municipality is as follows:
"The reports circulating in the public domain claiming that 'a corruption investigation has been launched into Büyükçekmece Municipality' do not reflect the truth. With a letter dated 07.05.2025 sent to our municipality by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a list of all construction projects granted permits and occupancy certificates between 01.01.2015 and 07.05.2025 was requested. The requested information will be prepared and submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in accordance with procedure. Respectfully announced to the public."
