BYD Turkey General Manager İsmail Ergün makes statement on production date

BYD Turkey General Manager İsmail Ergün, who is preparing to make a 1 billion dollar investment in Turkey, provided information regarding the investment plan. Speaking at a meeting, İsmail Ergün stated that the vehicle production capacity of the facility to be established in Turkey will be 150 thousand per year.

Ergün said, "The production investment was signed to be completed by the end of 2026. BYD aims to bring this date forward. Accessibility will be easier when production is done in Turkey. There will be many more high-tech products in Turkey. We aim to be among the top three brands in the total market within three years."

Stating that BYD has an aggressive growth strategy, Ergün said, "The models to be produced at the facility are not clear for now. They could be both electric and hybrid vehicles. BYD will enter Turkey very strongly. This investment decision by BYD will enable the brand to enter a new era in Turkey. In the coming period, we will see that BYD will grow very aggressively. We will change the balances in the Turkish market very quickly."

"WE ARE AT THE TOP"

Emphasizing that they are at the top in terms of market satisfaction, Ergün said, "We will offer models suitable for Turkish consumers in a period when current market balances are changing. Consumers are very happy with all the models we sell in limited numbers today.

We are at the top in terms of satisfaction in the market. On the other hand, we are receiving a lot of demand regarding dealerships, and our number of dealerships will continue to increase rapidly. We aim to increase our number of dealerships to 20 by the end of the year and to over 40 next year," he said.

Speaking about the automotive investment, Ergün said, "It makes us very proud that such an automotive investment has come after 27 years and that BYD has chosen Turkey for production. BYD's factory in Turkey will provide significant employment and export figures. It is exciting to have technological production in Turkey with a brand like BYD, whose name is mentioned in parallel with technology."

Listing the criteria for the brand's choice of Turkey, Ergün said, "Turkey is in a very strategic position geographically. Turkey's production quality has proven itself to the world. Turkey has the qualities to be a production base. We are doing very good work in terms of engineering. Turkey is the right address for such large investments. This investment by BYD will also trigger other brands," he said.
