The Presidential Cabinet will meet today under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting's agenda is expected to include topics related to domestic policy, the economy, and foreign policy.
At the cabinet meeting, the current status of the mechanisms established within the scope of the second opening process, dubbed a "Terror-Free Turkey," will be evaluated. The Monitoring and Evaluation Board, chaired by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, held its first meeting on August 24 and decided to establish four sub-commissions.
In this context, it is expected that the work regarding the establishment process of the Judicial and Legal Affairs Coordination Sub-Commission, the Monitoring and Detection Sub-Commission, the Social Harmony and Integration Sub-Commission, and the Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Sub-Commission will be reviewed.
The economy will also be among the important agenda items of the meeting. In addition to economic developments, evaluations regarding the Medium-Term Program are expected to be made in the cabinet. It is stated that the delivery process of the 500,000 social rental housing project in Istanbul, prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, will also be discussed.
On the foreign policy agenda, regional developments stand out. It is stated that the tension between the US and Iran, which has also been reflected in oil prices, will be evaluated along with the latest situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Russia-Ukraine war is also among the topics expected to be addressed at the meeting. The details of the meeting that President Erdoğan held last week with Russian President Vladimir Putin within the scope of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Summit are also expected to come to the cabinet's agenda.
