'Process' revision for the Cabinet: At least 4 ministers to change, some ministries to be split
Korkusuz columnist Can Coşkun, in his article titled "The process of appointments has begun," claimed that at least 4 ministers in the Cabinet will be replaced and some ministries will be split into two.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave a message of 'change' after the local elections on March 31, 2024; however, while the mentioned change remained limited to his party, the expected revision in the Cabinet did not take place.
Korkusuz columnist Can Coşkun noted that after the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) decisions announced yesterday, there is 'no obstacle' left to a Cabinet reshuffle.
In his article titled 'The appointments for the process have begun,' Coşkun shared the behind-the-scenes information he obtained regarding the Cabinet reshuffle. Stating that "President Erdoğan is expected to make changes to a large number of seats," Coşkun wrote that some ministries will also be split into two separate ministries.
Pointing out that the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Agriculture are the most discussed possibilities, Coşkun noted the following:
"They are followed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Trade. Before the last cabinet meeting, it was also whispered that a change could be expected for Tourism as well."
"AT LEAST FOUR SEATS WILL CHANGE..."
Stating that it is considered 'certain' that at least four names will change, Can Coşkun said, "Although the rumor that Berat Albayrak will re-enter the cabinet has decreased recently, it is still on the table. The name of the President's Chief of Staff, Hasan Doğan, has started to be mentioned for several seats. Still, I am not sure if he will be removed from his current seat because he manages the contacts with other parties very well. In the process called 'normalization,' he had also made many of the CHP's sensitivities 'achievable'."
"REFERENDUM-ADJUSTED CHANGE..."
On the other hand, expressing that he could not verify the claims regarding President Erdoğan's words allegedly said at the last cabinet meeting, 'This may be our last meeting with some friends,' Coşkun used the following expressions:
"The reason this claim cannot be verified may be this: It is understandable that the progress of the commission work in Parliament is expected before the Cabinet reshuffle. Because there seems to be a referendum on the horizon..."
