Researcher Kemal Özkiraz alleged that Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu is in talks to sell the channel to the Can Group, which also owns HaberTürk. Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu strongly denied the allegations and made the following statement:
