Call from Özgür Özel: 'It is Erdoğan's turn to apologize'
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel addressed President Erdoğan and demanded an apology. In his statement, Özel said, "I will apologize on behalf of Dilruba. Now it is Erdoğan's turn."
Responding to journalists' questions in Izmir, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel replied to the criticisms directed at him by President Erdoğan regarding Dilruba. Özel stated, "I am not defending Dilruba's remarks. I have no apology to make, but I apologize on behalf of Dilruba."
'IT IS ERDOĞAN'S TURN TO APOLOGIZE'
Addressing President Erdoğan, Özgür Özel said, "I am not defending Dilruba's remarks. I find her arrest for this, in the context of freedom of expression, to be disproportionate and unjust. Mr. Erdoğan says Özgür Özel should apologize. What should I apologize for? I will apologize on behalf of Dilruba. Now it is Erdoğan's turn. I have no apology to make, but I apologize on behalf of Dilruba. He should apologize for the words that upset CHP members. I apologize on her behalf to everyone Dilruba offended," he said.
