Call from TESK: Tradespeople cannot pay their debts!

Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) President Bendevi Palandöken stated that a new restructuring law must be enacted to provide relief to tradespeople and citizens.

In a written statement, Palandöken reported that inflation has also significantly affected tradespeople.

TRADESPEOPLE ARE IN A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION

Pointing out that tradespeople, whose expenses are rising while their incomes are falling, cannot pay their tax and premium debts on time, Palandöken noted the following:

"In order for tradespeople to find relief and for revenue to be provided to the state budget, there is a need for a comprehensive restructuring in areas such as all tax penalties, traffic, military service, civil registration, bridge and highway illegal crossing fines, judicial fines, administrative fines, student loan debts, and support premium debts, just as has been done before."

Reporting that 156 billion liras were collected by the end of 2023 through "Restructuring Law No. 7440," Palandöken stated, "If debts that have been finalized but remain unpaid are collected, there will be no need for a new tax increase. Both the budget deficit will decrease and tradespeople will be freed from their debts."
