Call from Ümit Özdağ for detained youth: 'They have exams next week...'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, whose trial while in detention continues, has issued a call for the young people who, like him, were arrested and sent to prison for participating in protests following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his colleagues.

Reminding that the detained students' exams are approaching, Özdağ said, "These young people have exams next week. Release these youths who were exercising their constitutional rights and are concerned about their future."

Ümit Özdağ used the following expressions in his social media post:

“Dozens of students who marched with Turkish flags in their hands and participated in protest demonstrations for justice, merit, and because they love their country are being tried while in detention.

These young people who were taken into custody and arrested are likely youths who were randomly detained during police intervention.

These young people have exams next week. Release these youths who were exercising their constitutional rights and are concerned about their future.

Good luck with your exams, may your success be constant, dear young people; I wish I could have been your professor.”
