Can Atalay speaks for the first time on the attack in Parliament: 'A coup attempt'
TİP Chairman and Istanbul MP Erkan Baş visited Can Atalay at Silivri Prison. During the meeting, Atalay made statements regarding the attack on Ahmet Şık in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
While the attack by AKP MP Alpay Özalan on TİP MP Ahmet Şık continues to remain on the agenda, Can Atalay has spoken for the first time regarding this incident.
TİP Chairman Erkan Baş visited Can Atalay in the prison where he is being held.
In a statement on his social media account, Baş included the following remarks:
"I visited our Hatay MP Can Atalay, who should be in the TBMM, at Silivri Prison. His morale is very high, and he is resilient as always.
"A COUP ATTEMPT"
Can thanked all the political party leaders who called for the extraordinary meeting held in the TBMM and the MPs who attended the meeting.
He conveyed his get-well wishes to our dear Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Okan Konuralp, and Ahmet Şık, who were injured in the attack.
Can also evaluates these events not only as an attack on the TİP and himself, but as a coup attempt against the constitution and the will of the people.
We underline once again that the resistance against this coup attempt is part of the resistance against the fascist Palace Regime.
As long as they continue their lawlessness and tyranny, we will continue our resistance wherever we are."
