Can someone who makes good tea understand a vacuum truck?!

A total of 837 people applied for the 57 job openings announced by the Çorum Provincial Special Administration. The CHP announced that the driver, tea server, and cleaner of the AKP Provincial Building were among those hired.

CHP Çorum Deputy Mehmet Tahtasız stated that they had detected irregularities in the recruitment processes of those hired through interviews at the Provincial Special Administration. Tahtasız said, "The person with the best driving skills, the best qualified license, and the most experience in Çorum must be the AKP Provincial Chairman's driver, as he was appointed as a pickup truck driver at the Provincial Special Administration. The Provincial Special Administration has shown such 'merit' that they hired a person who was a tea server at the AKP as a vacuum truck assistant. Just like the saying that someone who makes good tea does everything well, they hired that friend of ours too," he said. Calling for the injustice in the recruitment process to be rectified, Tahtasız stated that they would otherwise file a criminal complaint.

RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS OF A QUOTA ALLOCATED TO THE CHP

CHP Provincial Chairman Dinçer Solmaz said the following:

"We are all experiencing the sadness of witnessing that a number of irregular procedures were carried out regarding the recruitments for the Provincial Special Administration held in recent weeks, as our deputy had previously expressed our concerns about. We have all experienced once again that a recruitment process was carried out at the highest level of nepotism, favoritism, and lack of merit by an understanding that has 'justice' in its name but has never shown an ounce of it in its practice to date, and we understand that we will continue to experience this with this understanding if things continue this way. But let them not forget, let them know this; let them know well that we are approaching the days when this understanding, this era, these unjust and meritless practices will come to an end. First of all, I would also like to specifically state this; these reports have also appeared in the press from time to time. We see that baseless, unacceptable reports have been circulating claiming that a quota was allocated to the CHP in the recruitments. Let not the 'bold thief' try to suppress the homeowner as if a transaction was made by allocating a quota to the CHP. The CHP has never been involved in such matters. There is no question of a quota being allocated. The Nationalist Movement Party's name is also mentioned, but that does not concern us. That is their own business, but there has been no quota allocated to the CHP regarding recruitments, including those at the Special Administration. If there is such information and documents, we expect them to be disclosed and brought to light."

'WE SAID LET IT BE DETERMINED BY LOTTERY, BUT...'

CHP Çorum Deputy Mehmet Tahtasız said the following:

"We felt the need to make this statement because we previously warned our Governor, Secretary General Recep Çıplak, the AK Party Provincial Chairman, and the deputies from here, but they did not listen to our warning. Once again, the bleeding wound of people in these recruitments is, well, nepotism; of course, the fish rots from the head. Because just 15 days ago, what happened; the President appointed his own advisor to the Constitutional Court. We also know the places where the children of many ministers were appointed, but our current agenda will be Çorum. A total of 57 people were to be hired in 20 professional branches to work within the Çorum Governorship Provincial Special Administration. 1,837 of our citizens applied for this recruitment. At that time, upon the allegations of nepotism that reached me, we went there with you on July 6th. Here, we warned our Governor, Recep Çıplak, and the AK Party officials, deputies, and the provincial chairman. Despite this, we said that we proposed it be done by lottery in the presence of a notary. Whichever of our citizens is selected in this lottery, we would accept it, because you had 1,837 citizens apply. You set conditions while they were applying. What were those conditions; you set requirements like having a driver's license, or an age limit, or an education limit. We said, 'let it be drawn by lottery among the citizens who deserve these and should be hired, and let these allegations of nepotism come to an end.' Unfortunately, with the AKP government, 'interview' equals 'nepotism' in Turkey, and 'interview' is the murderer of merit in our country. When 'interview' is mentioned, the rights of hundreds of judge and prosecutor candidates, thousands of teachers, police officers, nurses, doctors, engineers, and workers have been violated in this country in the last 22 years. Yet they had no shortcomings; their only shortcoming was not being an AKP member, not thinking like them. A similar version of the 'interview theater' that the AKP plays all over Turkey, in public institutions, and in municipalities was played in Çorum, and unfortunately, the interview won, and merit lost. At the point we have reached, our efforts on behalf of the 1,837 people regarding the Provincial Special Administration recruitments, and the struggle we waged so that no one's rights would be violated, have remained fruitless.

'DOES A TEA SERVER UNDERSTAND A VACUUM TRUCK!'

With the conclusion of the recruitments, the allegations of nepotism that reached us earlier have been confirmed once again. When we look at the announced list, we saw that the person working in the tea room at the AKP Provincial Headquarters and the person working as a driver at the provincial headquarters were hired. The person with the best driving skills, the best qualified license, and the most experience in Çorum must be the AKP Provincial Chairman's driver, as he was appointed as a pickup truck driver at the Provincial Special Administration. Do not say 'does a tea server understand a vacuum truck'; if they are an AKP member, everyone can understand everything. They can get any job. The Provincial Special Administration has shown such 'merit' that they hired a person who was a tea server at the AKP as a vacuum truck assistant. Do not be surprised if you see this person promoted from assistant to the director level in a very short time. Just like the saying that someone who makes good tea does everything well, they hired that friend of ours too. There is another interesting example; we determined that the son of the person who prepared the caricature posters for the President's Çorum rally in this square was hired by the Provincial Special Administration. In a country where the President's prison mates and prison visitors are made ministers, this has become very normal. Again, you look and see there is a special person, but that job branch is not in the job advertisement. They find a brilliant solution to hire this special person and open a position even though there is no need, and they start that friend of ours in that position. Unfortunately, these nepotistic appointments and recruitments are not happening for the first time in our province and our country, but we will continue to insistently struggle and insistently call for rights and justice."

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED

We have seen that when the subject is the AKP, everything that is said to be impossible is made possible without recognizing laws or regulations. As you will remember from previous examples, we have often encountered and seen that people who were tea servers, drivers, cleaners, or did any job at the AKP Provincial Headquarters, which left İŞKUR behind, have transitioned to public service one by one. We have seen with sadness how the ruling party AKP and its alliance partner MHP were effective in the Provincial Special Administration recruitments. In the meantime, I categorically deny the allegations that a quota was allocated to our party in the recruitments, and I invite those who put forward this claim to prove it. If they cannot prove it, they are slanderers. At the point we have reached, we have also seen how the Çorum Governorship, which is an organ of the state, and the Provincial Special Administration have surrendered to the government. We have also seen how the rights of the remaining 1,780 people were violated as a result of these meritless and nepotistic appointments. We have all witnessed together how the word of Almighty God, 'Come with whatever you want, but do not come with the violation of human rights,' was ignored and how sins were committed in plain sight. If our Governor, Secretary General Recep Çıplak, and the deputies do not put a 'stop' to this incident and rectify this injustice regarding these recruitments, we will file a criminal complaint on this matter with our provincial chairman and district chairman, with the judicial path being open, of course. As I said, we have no problem with any citizen who gets a job. Our only concern is that we want justice, and we do not want the rights of those 1,850 citizens to be violated."
