Former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu has issued a statement regarding claims published in some media outlets that she made certain remarks concerning the "money counting" investigation.
Former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu has broken her silence regarding the footage of money being counted at the CHP.
Canan Kaftancıoğlu's statement is as follows:
"Some media outlets have published statements allegedly made by former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu. The statements and reports in question are untrue. Legal proceedings will be initiated against those who produce and spread fake news. For your information."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an ex officio investigation into the footage circulating on social media, which allegedly shows Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Sports Club President Fatih Keleş counting money at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Headquarters, in order to uncover the material truth and determine whether any crime or criminal elements were involved.
