Candidate confuses parties
The İYİ Party used a photo of its İzmir Buca mayoral candidate, Suat Nezir, wearing a CHP pin on his lapel in its election posters.
Election posters hung in various parts of the city for Suat Nezir, a former CHP member nominated by the İYİ Party as its mayoral candidate for İzmir's Buca district, have sparked controversy.
According to a report by Evrensel, the photos used on the posters show Nezir wearing a CHP pin on his lapel.
Suat Nezir, who was announced as the CHP's mayoral candidate for Buca in the 2019 local elections before his candidacy was later withdrawn, became the İYİ Party candidate for this election.
Having served as a member of the Buca Municipality Zoning Commission for four terms and as the head of the Zoning Commission for two terms, Suat Nezir also served as the Deputy Mayor of Buca. Nezir operates in the real estate and construction sectors in Buca.
