It has been reported that a cargo ship sustained damage after colliding with a container ship while anchoring at the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area in Istanbul.

In a statement made on the social media account of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure's General Directorate of Coastal Safety, it was stated that the 138-meter-long general cargo ship named "VOLGO DON 207" collided with the 147-meter-long container ship named "ASTRID L," which was already at anchor, while attempting to anchor at the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area.
The statement noted that upon receiving the information, the KEGM-6 fast rescue boat was immediately dispatched to the area, adding, "Material damage occurred to the ships, and no loss of life, injuries, or environmental pollution were detected during the inspections."
