A Bulgarian citizen traveling by bus from Turkey to Bulgaria was found with 1 kilo and 170 grams of gold in the pockets of a jacket wrapped around her waist.
Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo, who became suspicious of the behavior of a Bulgarian citizen identified as R.D. traveling on a bus entering Bulgaria from Turkey, seized smuggled gold jewelry worth over 55,000 euros.
Officers, suspicious of the 65-year-old woman wearing a jacket wrapped around her waist inside the bus despite the hot weather, subjected the Bulgarian-registered vehicle to a comprehensive customs inspection.
