The General Directorate of Tea Enterprises (ÇAYKUR) had previously reduced purchases per decare from 50 kilograms to 30 kilograms, and later down to 25 kilograms, due to the increasing intensity each day.
In order to process a portion of the tea in stock, ÇAYKUR had temporarily suspended fresh tea purchases on Wednesday. Having been purchasing at 25 kilograms per decare, ÇAYKUR had reduced the quota to 20 kilograms per decare as of today.
ÇAYKUR announced to producers via text message today that it will begin purchasing tea at 25 kilograms per decare starting tomorrow.
In the text message sent to producers, ÇAYKUR stated, "Dear producers, fresh tea purchases will be made at 25 kg per decare starting tomorrow (SUNDAY)."
