Celal Karatüre responds to allegations against him

Celal Karatüre reached a wide audience in a short time with the hymn “Kâbe’de Hacılar Hu Der Allah,” which he shared on social media. While the video went viral quickly, Karatüre’s other posts also received significant attention on social media.

The fact that the hymn performed by Karatüre was taught in schools had sparked controversy, and during this process, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli had thanked Karatüre.

A striking allegation was made against Karatüre in recent days. It was claimed that Karatüre demanded 300,000 TL for an iftar program he was invited to for charity purposes, and figures reaching 500,000 TL for events organized for promotional purposes.

Following this allegation, Karatüre made a statement. Denying the claims in question, Karatüre announced that he would initiate legal proceedings.

Karatüre’s statement is as follows:

“The reports that have appeared in some press and social media outlets in recent days claiming that we 'received 300,000 TL for a charity iftar program we were invited to during the month of Ramadan, and 500,000 TL for promotional programs' are completely baseless, untrue, and consist of slander.

We have not received any such fee from any institution or organization. We categorically reject such false and unfounded news aimed at misleading the public.

The necessary legal process will be initiated regarding this slander and the untrue allegations made against us. Respectfully announced to the public.
