Cemal Enginyurt: Brother Recep, we have become communists thanks to you

The Association for Justice in Retirement held a rally at Kartal Square with the demand for 'justice in retirement.' Those who could not benefit from the Retirement Age Victims (EYT) law reiterated their demand for "a gradual retirement system for those with social security records after 2000."

Speaking at the rally, Democrat Party Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Cemal Enginyurt, following the chant "We will win by resisting," said, "Look at the situation Erdoğan has brought us to. Erdoğan, Brother Recep, we have become communists thanks to you! Look at the slogans, we have all become revolutionaries; you have brought us to this state, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

Enginyurt also recalled the slogan "Down with America, long live a fully independent Turkey" shouted by Deniz Gezmiş as he went to the gallows, and recited lines by Nâzım Hikmet.

"POSTPONING THE RIGHT TO RETIREMENT BY 17 YEARS IS UNACCEPTABLE"

DİSK President Arzu Çerkezoğlu also delivered a speech. Çerkezoğlu stated the following:

“We are here to claim our most fundamental right, the right to retirement. The most honorable thing on earth is to stand up for your labor and your dignity. We add value and produce value for this country. In this country, it is a right of citizenship to retire after working for a certain period and to live humanely after retirement. Unfortunately, in this country, both retiring and living after retirement have been made almost impossible. Of course, administrators can make regulations, but these regulations must be fair. All injustices must be eliminated. Postponing the right to retirement by 17 years in a single day is unacceptable. This mistake must be corrected immediately. Your struggle for justice in retirement is an honorable struggle.”
