Ceremony to be held at AKM: Sırrı Süreyya Önder's body has been taken from the hospital

DEM Party member and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who had been receiving treatment in intensive care for some time due to a heart condition, has passed away at the age of 62. A statement from the Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital reported that Önder passed away yesterday at 16:10.

HE HAD BEEN IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 18 DAYS

Sırrı Süreyya Önder had been under treatment in the intensive care unit for approximately 18 days. The news of the death of Önder, who was hospitalized due to a heart condition and whose condition remained serious, has left his loved ones and political circles in mourning.

Funeral Program Announced

The DEM Party has shared the details regarding the funeral and memorial program to be held for Sırrı Süreyya Önder. A memorial ceremony will be held today, Sunday, May 4, at 11:00 at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM). Following the ceremony, a funeral service will be held at the Barbaros Mosque in Levent following the afternoon prayer. Önder's body will be laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the ceremony.

Following his passing, Önder's body was taken from the Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital, and preparations for the funeral ceremony have begun. The farewell to Önder, who played an active role in the fields of politics, art, and media for many years, has been met with deep sadness by many.
