Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar receives 'political ban': Approved by majority vote
The Adana 8th Regional Court of Justice (BAM) Criminal Chamber has imposed a political ban on Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar.
The Adana 8th Regional Court of Justice (BAM) Criminal Chamber has reached a verdict on the appeal case of Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, who was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison for the crime of threatening.
Accordingly, the decision regarding Kadir Aydar was upheld by a majority vote.
In the dissenting opinion, it was emphasized that the decision should be overturned and all defendants acquitted of the charged crime, noting that the complaint was filed 13 months later, there were no witnesses, and the victims constantly changed their statements.
KADİR AYDAR ISSUED A STATEMENT
Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, in his statement regarding the decision, said, "The evidence was not examined, the parties were not asked to explain the content of the file, the video CD was not watched, and the file was concluded without holding a hearing for these deficiencies. A major legal absurdity has occurred. Defendants in the same position who are not involved in politics were acquitted, while the sentences of the defendants who are involved in politics were upheld, and a political ban was imposed. This situation is also clearly expressed in the dissenting opinion. We will, of course, use our legal rights to the fullest extent against this decision."
