Chaos in the Turkish Parliament: AKP deputy walks toward DEM Party's Koca!
AKP Ağrı Deputy and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Equality of Opportunity for Women and Men, Ruken Kilerci, attempted to physically intervene against DEM Party deputy Perihan Koca, who was filming while protesting the olive grove law in Parliament. The moments were captured on camera, and the session in Parliament was suspended twice.
In the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, tensions rose during the deliberations on a legislative proposal that would allow mining activities in olive grove areas. CHP deputies occupied the General Assembly podium, demanding that the proposal be withdrawn from the agenda. CHP Rize Deputy Tahsin Ocaklı, who initiated the protest, was supported by some deputies from the CHP and the DEM Party.
While the deputies continued their protest with chants of "Do not touch my air, my water, my soil," Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tekin Bingöl was forced to suspend the session twice due to the occupation of the podium.
AKP'S KİLERCİ WALKED TOWARD THE DEM DEPUTY
DEM Party Mersin Deputy Perihan Koca's recording of the tense moments in the hall with her mobile phone sparked a reaction from the AKP benches. AKP Ağrı Deputy and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Equality of Opportunity for Women and Men, Ruken Kilerci, became angry at Koca for filming and walked toward her. As the argument escalated, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Bingöl suspended the session again.
18 articles of the relevant legal regulation were accepted with the votes of the ruling party deputies. While the deliberations continued, villagers who have been on a hunger strike for days for the olive groves continued their sit-in protest in front of the Turkish Parliament despite heavy rainfall.
HARSH POST FROM PERİHAN KOCA
Following the events in Parliament, Perihan Koca shared a video documenting what happened on the social media platform X and used the following expressions:
"AKP deputies tried to suppress our resistance against the mining law in the Turkish Parliament with bullying. First, the AKP female deputies and then the male deputies walked toward me like this to physically attack me. Watch the video until the end; this is how AKP's boss-deputies, dressed like company CEOs, pass laws through bullying. Their eagerness for plunder and robbery, and their hostility toward the people will not succeed!"
