Cheese factory explosion in Diyarbakır

A heating boiler exploded in the morning hours at a single-story cheese production facility operating in the rural Bintaş neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Çermik district. While the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, the incident caused significant damage to the facility.

TEAMS MOBILIZED

Following the explosion, emergency medical teams, firefighters, Çermik Municipality Search and Rescue teams, and the gendarmerie were dispatched to the area upon notification. Security measures were taken at the scene, and the first intervention for the injured was carried out by the teams.

2 PEOPLE IN CRITICAL CONDITION

The 6 people injured in the explosion were taken to Çermik State Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Two of the injured, whose conditions were critical, were transferred to hospitals in Diyarbakır for further treatment.

It was learned that some walls of the cheese production facility collapsed due to the impact of the boiler explosion, and the structure sustained serious damage. An investigation has been launched around the facility following the incident.

Çermik District Governor Adem Karataş arrived at the facility where the explosion occurred and received information from the authorities. While it was stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing, it was noted that the exact cause of the explosion will become clear after technical studies are completed.
