Chemical panic in Beylikdüzü
A 15-story building in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district was evacuated due to chemical odors that spread during cleaning in the basement. Two residents and two firefighters were hospitalized after being poisoned.
In the Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul, a strong chemical odor began to spread while a water tank in the basement of a 15-story apartment building was being cleaned. Residents of the building were quickly affected by the smell.
TWO CITIZENS AND TWO FIREFIGHTERS POISONED
Two people in the building fell ill due to the chemical odor. Two personnel from the fire department who arrived at the scene were also poisoned during the intervention and were taken to the hospital. A total of four people were taken under treatment.

BUILDING EVACUATED, NEIGHBORS TOOK TO THE STREETS
Panic erupted in the building as the chemical odor spread. The building was completely evacuated against potential risks. While citizens were directed to a safe area, numerous health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
SOURCE OF THE CHEMICAL ODOR IS WATER TANK CLEANING
According to initial findings, the incident was caused by chemical substances used during the cleaning of the building's water tank. As the odor spread throughout the building, both residents and intervention teams were affected.
