Chicken doner sold at school canteen causes food poisoning

According to allegations, several students at Süleyman Demirel Anatolian High School experienced nausea and vomiting after purchasing chicken doner and ayran from the canteen.

Approximately 10 students were taken to various hospitals for treatment on suspicion of food poisoning. It was learned that parents intend to file a complaint with the police, alleging that expired products were being sold at the canteen.

Selen Bilgineşi (15), who was brought to the Gebze Fatih State Hospital Emergency Department by her family, said, "My friends and I bought chicken doner today and we all ate it.

We saw that one of our friends was feeling nauseous and we took her to the administrative office. Following that, everyone was asked, 'Is there anyone with a stomach ache or nausea?' When I went to the room in the administrative section, there were 11-12 students. They took us all to the hospital and started IV lines," she said.

Stating that they had previously complained to CİMER about the school canteen for allegedly selling spoiled products, Bilgineşi added, "No one heard our voices. We want a solution to be found for this," she said.

"THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL WITH MY FAMILY"

Şeyma Çilgi (15) stated, "Even though we complained to CİMER before, no one listened to us. This is the second time this has happened. I am experiencing this for the second time. When I went to the principal, he attended to me but did not call an ambulance; he called my mother. When my family arrived, I fainted. They told me to go to the hospital with my family, not by ambulance. So I came to the hospital with my family," she expressed.

"THEY FED THEM EXPIRED PRODUCTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN"

Şeyma's mother, Müzeyyen Çilgi, said, "Even though we complained to the school many times, they fed our children expired products from the canteen over and over again. We file complaints, and the same thing happens again. Today, they ate chicken doner and drank ayran. They were poisoned. When we went to the school, they hadn't even called an ambulance. They said, 'Everyone should go to the hospital by their own means.' I was the one who called the ambulance and the police," she stated.

"IT'S NOT JUST ONCE, IT'S TWICE"

Güven Bilgineşi, who stated that he learned about the incident when his daughter Selen called him, said, "I went to the school in a hurry. It was quite crowded. Petitions were written. We came to the hospital by our own means. This is not once, it's twice. They are disregarding our children. They should either close the canteens or find a solution," he said.
