A new development has occurred regarding Feyza Altun, who was detained due to a social media post about Sharia and was released under judicial control conditions by the court to which she was referred with a request for arrest.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has appealed Altun's release.
The Prosecutor's Office's appeal will be evaluated by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Lawyer Feyza Altun, who was detained on the grounds of a 'Sharia' post on social media, was brought to the Beykoz Courthouse early this morning following police procedures, and after her statement to the prosecutor, she was referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for her arrest.
The judgeship found the request for Altun's arrest to be "excessive" and decided to release her under judicial control measures, which include a travel ban and the requirement to sign in at a police station twice a week.
