Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requests VAR center camera footage

Within the scope of the "referees file" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, the detained suspects have been accused of crimes such as "torture" and "forgery of official documents." 

As part of the investigation, 7 individuals, including MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu and some former MHK members, were detained based on open-source research, MASAK and HTS analyses, complainant and witness statements, and expert findings.

Teams from the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Branch have begun examining all camera footage at the TFF building, including the VAR room and referee corridors.

Regarding the incident in question, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Investigation Bureau for Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes has requested all camera footage from the TFF, including entries and exits to the VAR center in Riva, the floor where the VAR room is located, and even the corridors.

Accordingly, police teams went to the TFF building in Riva and began examining all camera footage. It was also stated that the footage would be added to the investigation file once the examinations are completed.

According to the claim by journalist Umut Eken, the financial crimes teams conducting the investigation at the TFF Riva Facilities discovered that some digital materials in the referee affairs department had been deleted early in the morning. However, police technical personnel were able to recover the deleted digital materials.
