Child hospitalized after being attacked by stray dogs
In Samsun, a child who was attacked by stray dogs fell while trying to escape and was hospitalized. The child's family has filed a complaint with the police.
In an incident that occurred in the Kışla Neighborhood of Samsun's İlkadım district, 11-year-old 5th-grade student Gökay Eren, who was visiting his grandfather Kamil Çelik, was attacked by stray dogs while on his way home.
The child, who tried to save himself by running away from the dogs, fell and ended up in the hospital.
Grandfather Kamil Çelik and neighbors rushed to Gökay Erkan's aid.
The injured child was taken by ambulance to Samsun Training and Research Hospital, where he was placed under treatment.
''I PROTECTED MYSELF BY KICKING''
Describing the terrifying moments he experienced, Gökay Erkan said, "I was attacked by 3 dogs on the street. I wanted to escape, but I fell to the ground. When the dog continued to attack, I protected myself by kicking it with my foot while on the ground."
Grandfather Kamil Çelik stated, "The child barely saved himself by hitting it. We ran, but thank God he got away early, or they would have torn the child to pieces."
While the child's treatment continues at the hospital, his family has filed a complaint with the police.
