Child victim of violence in Gaziantep taken under state protection

The Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that Y.E., who subjected his daughter Y.E.T. (2) to violence in Gaziantep, has been arrested and the victimized child has been taken under state protection.

The following statements were included in the written statement made by the Ministry:

"It has been deemed appropriate to make the following statement regarding the news reports titled 'Violence against a 2-year-old girl in Gaziantep'. Following the footage, our Gaziantep Provincial Directorate teams acted immediately in coordination with security units. The individual who subjected his child to violence was arrested and sent to prison, and the victimized child was taken under state protection. As the Ministry, we have requested an access ban on the aforementioned violent footage within the framework of the principle of the best interests of the child. Furthermore, we will file a criminal complaint against both the individual who committed the violence and the stepmother, and we will closely follow the legal process to ensure that the perpetrators receive the harshest punishment. Respectfully announced to the public."
